The cutting boards are carefully crafted from Canadian maple hardwood with a 3/8” cherry wood plug. Size is 5” x 7.5”.
The Assembly Process
These cutting boards have been planed and sanded and assembled with water resistant glue that has been approved for indirect food contact. They are coated with a finish, which protects the wood from drying and cracking and one that is approved for food contact.
Care and Cleaning
Do not put your cutting board in the dishwasher or in a sink full of water to soak, as it can cause the board to crack or warp. After use, wipe it with warm water and mild antibacterial dish soap. Rinse it, dry and stand it on edge allowing for airflow, to permit the board to dry, before storing.
After a number of uses, give your board a thorough cleaning. Mix one tablespoon of baking soda, one tablespoon of salt and a tablespoon of water to form a paste. Give your board a good scrub with the paste, rinse thoroughly with hot water and then dry the board. Give it a wipe with with full strength white vinegar to disinfect the board. Stand it on edge so that air can circulate and dry the board completely before storing.
